E2 and L7

The “E2” electrode tip dresser in its original form is one of the machines that made this technology popular years ago. Over the course of the years it was modified and improved in countless details and adapted to our customer’s current desires. It is the standard device in the majority of applications.

For special cases, especially for tight welding tongs, the “L7” is used. It tip dressing in especially tight tong geometries possible.

Today, these tip dressers are market leaders due to their highly sophisticated details. Its salient characteristics are:

  • The modular construction: From the simple tip dresser with stand, motor, drive and milling unit, the E2 can be configured with different accessory components. These include e.g. suction or blower units, standard, interbus or other connections, rotation sensor, etc.
  • The axial lifting offset: Even heavy– usually unintended– jarring on the welding tongs is compensated and the machine remains undamaged.
  • The milling speed: LUTZ tip dressers rotate high rotational speeds rarely seen in the industry. The advantages of this technology are especially short milling times and low mechanical strain for tip and for milling cutter.
  • The quick change mechanism: Milling cutters must be changed with lightning quickness in the field. To this end, LUTZ devices don’t require any time consuming screwing and unscrewing; the bayonet lock makes it possible to change tools without interruptions.
